We’re excited to welcome Marc Hill to the 3D Recruit family as our Specialist Recruitment Consultant for Aged & Community Care. With a strong background in recruitment and a genuine passion for supporting individuals and organisations, Marc brings fresh energy and expertise to our team.
We sat down with Marc for a quick Q&A to get to know the person behind the job title.
Tell us a bit about your background – what led you into recruitment?
Like many people in the industry, I “fell into” recruitment somewhat unexpectedly. I initially applied for a role and instantly hit it off with the recruiter managing it who then offered me a spot on their team. That chance encounter opened the door to what’s now a deeply fulfilling career. (And yes, we’re still great friends to this day!)
Since then, my journey has taken me across the USA and UK before settling back in Australia, where I’ve specialised in recruitment for the aged & community care sector since 2021. I’ve worked in internal recruitment roles for organisations such as Amana Living and Bolton Clarke, gaining deep insight into what both providers and candidates need, not just to fill roles, but to build teams and careers that last.
What do you love most about working in recruitment, especially in the niche area of aged & community care?
At its core, recruitment is about connection. I genuinely enjoy talking to people, building networks, and making matches that truly matter. In aged and community care, that impact is amplified because the people who choose this work are often doing it for the right reasons. It’s not an easy industry; it takes resilience, compassion, and commitment. The candidates I work with have those qualities in spades.
From a professional standpoint, I’ve had the opportunity to achieve strong outcomes, securing long-term contracts, building out recruitment functions from scratch, and placing high-impact candidates with national organisations and small standalone NFPs. But what I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built along the way. Providers know I understand the workforce pressures they’re navigating, and candidates know I won’t waste their time. I’m here to add real value, not just tick boxes.
You’ve described yourself as someone who brings energy and a positive mindset to everything you do. Where does that come from?
My mum – hands down. She’s my biggest role model and has always taught me to stay grounded, grateful, and optimistic, no matter the circumstances.
That mindset has shaped how I approach my work. I’m naturally upbeat and light-hearted, but I’m also serious about the outcomes I deliver. I want people to feel good about working with me, whether they’re a candidate stepping into a new chapter or a provider under pressure to find the right fit, fast.
I believe recruitment should be human first, always. But it also needs to be efficient, strategic, and responsive to what’s really happening on the ground. That’s what I bring to the table.
What excites you most about joining 3D Recruit?
When I met Laura and the team and learnt about the business ethos, particularly the dual focus on recruitment and ongoing career support and organisational development, I was sold. It’s clear that 3D Recruit and the broader Above & Beyond Group are purpose driven and here for the long game, not just the quick wins. That aligns with how I work too.
I’m also excited about focusing on more professional, specialist and leadership roles with 3D Recruit. It feels meaningful to now be part of a team that’s not just filling roles but helping shape the future of leadership in aged and community care.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
I’m passionate about football (soccer) and still play at State League level for Ashfield, although my body keeps reminding me, I’m not 21 anymore! My other obsession is motorcycle racing, I know everything there is to know about MotoGP and used to race motocross in the UK. It’s been a lifelong passion, and one that keeps my competitive spirit alive.
